Here’s the real truth

We are offshoots of God, as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, our souls mirror God’s, and when you’re dealing with an intrinsic truth, you cannot separate between the location that truth is held (in other words, if God is kind, compassionate, loving, sensitive, giving and we are, it is not two separate beings, rather one in two locations, by way of example, when you and I think 1+1=2, it’s the same equation, in two locations.)

Of course, if that was the whole story God need not create us, hence God created an inverted mirror of us, so as there is selfless love, there is selfish love, as there is positive humility there is negative arrogance and hence man is greatly challenged between conflicting desires.

Likewise, all is a plan for us, to be able to slowly but surely discern between which are good and which are evil – for example, love can be lust which is selfish, and man’s goal is as the Alter Rebbe taught about himself: for seven years I searched for the truth, for seven years I worked on weeding out all negative impulses, desires and (obviously) thought speech and actions – and for seven years I worked on integrating the truth into my heart, soul and (obviously mainly) behaviors!
