Happiness vs. unhappiness

You know those moments, you want to run naked through the streets shouting Eureka, but somehow you just don’t do it.
Well this morning was one of those moments.
Can there be a happier moment when in God’s grace you discover a unifying principle?
Some kind of centrifugal force which has the ability to unite the billions of different people on our planet?
Yep, today was one of those Eureka moments!
Thankfully our religion prohibits such public displays of vanity.
Happiness vs. unhappiness
It all boils down to this equation.
We are born happy.
Look at little children, they frolic, sometimes actually oblivious to anything wrong – it is amazing, even here in Africa to see the poor black kids – they don’t see race, color, religion, only they are content to play, happy with whatever toys they can fashion.
They don’t feel hard done by, rather they are happy.
I remember my dear father taught, that happiness comes from humility and perhaps it is a child’s humility that makes him happy.
Knowing that adults are far superior to his world, he contents himself with whatever he has, not dreaming that he has been hard done by anybody.
On the flip side of this is the privileged, when we believe we deserve better and we are upset that we don’t have it.
