God started the world in darkness, as it says, the world ran in darkness, for two thousand years, until Avrohom came and light began to shine; and the Jews had a period, of two thousand years of light, from the revelation of the Torah, to the revelation of God, in the Holy Temple, in the Beis Hamikdsoh; in general they were spiritually on a very high perceptive level, and then came the messianic era, which ultimately is the level of God-himself – both darkness and light are not God, they are two colors in God’s paint brush; God is infinity, the ability to continuously merge light into darkness, in ever specified increasing measures
