God doesn’t care how wise, holy, even nice we are; he only cares to what extent are we willing to sacrifice our animal (instinctual compulsions, including even the compulsion to be nice, but as we are working on instincts, as the saying goes, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”) in favor of our Divine soul’s wisdom, namely, we are nothing compared to God, hence it is our duty privilege honor and should likewise be (as a servant who works for the king feels) joy, to adhere to his commandments (wisdom for life!)
