God created, as the very first paragraph in Judaism teaches, light and darkness – in other words, we often mistake reality, we see it, as having both light and darkness and God is light; the truth is, reality – our reality, is, as the first verse states “In the beginning God created heaven and earth” – in other words, life has no reality – like a computer that a programmer decided to one day create a game, it had a beginning (hence “in the beginning”) the reason this is so important is, that it is obvious, that He who created the light, created the darkness! – So what’s the point?! – The point is You! – Like a parent who loves their child, with invincible power, decides – “Hey’ I will create a universe and give them the opportunity to fill it with light” (hence the real meaning of this light, is the acts of goodness and kindness!)
