Generalities and specifics

All of the Torah is given in a generality and specific mechanism, so teach our sages.

In every generation, we are obliged to adhere to the prophet, the Rebbe of the generation, for in every generation, Judaism gets renewed, there is a NEW-MISSION that is the general goal of all Jews!

In the beginning of the Rebbe’s leadership, the mission he taught, was to teach Judaism to all secular Jews!

This was thank-God applied beyond anyone’s wildest imagination!

An orthodox Judaism, reeling from the destruction of its epicenter in Europe, once again emerged from the ashes, like a phoenix; through the Rebbe’s role and leadership, as a phoenix with bright colors, holding high the banner that “Am Yisroel Chay!” the Jewish people, namely, the God of the Jews, through the Torah and Mitzvos kept by the Jews, shines brightly!!!

Then in 1992, in the last address to the international network of lamplighters, of torch-bearers; the Rebbe’s personal army of love and light, Judaism and Mitzvos, got a new charge; which of course, as the Rebbe teaches, every Jew is his emissary! an emissary to fulfill God’s mission today! and the NEW-MISSION, is, to bring Moshiach through two simple mediums: the first to add (and to encourage others) in Torah and Mitzvos, specifically for this goal; for our donations of Torah and Mitzvos for a cause, effects the tremendous change necessary for the cause!

Secondly, to let the world know (and ourselves) that in every generation a Moshiach is born, a decedent of King David, hence this is not a distant dream, rather a reality waiting with baited breath for the moment God tells him to redeem the world!

However, as in most of the talks the Rebbe gave, the emphasis is in “oirois bikeilim” the goal is not to create bumper stickers and a global awareness, rather, though this is a good thing, the change the Rebbe was advocating, as Simon Jacobson personally told me, was a changing consciousness!

Namely, elevating us to a new paradigm, namely, as the famous saying, “harder than to take the Jews out of golus/exile, is to take exile out of the Jews!” We must be cognizant that the world we live in today is the rise of the messianic light, for the miracles we live in – compare: for the first time in two thousand years of brutal oppression, all Jews are free to practice their religion! – antisemitism never has been lower! – respect from good gentiles to the Jews, never higher! – never have millions of Jews retuned to our beloved homeland! – and most of all, the coconsciousness that God is good and materialism is “crap,” has permeated most of the modern world!
