Freud of course was the proponent of the subconscious – in fact, though it is obvious from his writings, he was not entirely sure at all what the subconscious thinks, he was certain that there is a subconscious – but ironically, his subconscious stratum looked of course very much like Freud, narcissistic as well as licentious – there is another great teacher of subconscious truth, namely the Lubavitcher Rebbe; but perhaps not so ironically, his belief in our subconscious looked very much like the Rebbe, unconditional goodness and love.
