Freeing your heart to love

People are born with soft hearts, but to protect it from getting hurt, the heart grows a scab when it senses danger and then like Dr. Twersky writes about a kid who had a big loss and then stopped feeling pain, but nor could he feel pleasure; he gave the analogy that it was like a plumber who came to fix his sink, but to do so, he switched off the main, so there was no water anywhere – the trick is to realize that God loves, cares and protects you; for once you banish fear, then love can feel safe again!
