What is more airtight than the most airtight freezer, more controlled than the most guarded vault, more locked than the locks at Fort Knox

 

Fear

 

Fear has a system of literally overriding our rational mind as it bypasses thought and people in fear REACT and do not act

 

But fear can and must be beaten

 

The following is my way

 

You see fear comes from, well, fear

 

If you can eliminate the source of fear you will – well – have no more fear

 

The reason people develop fear is because they have experienced something painful and they surmise if it happened once, it will happen again.

 

That’s why one person cannot judge another’s fear, for if you did not experience say being bitten by a dog God-forbid, you cannot perceive a person who is afraid of dogs from a childhood bite.

 

Never before has life been better

 

Never before have people had so much

 

Never before have we lived so long, freely, with no reason to fear

 

The fact is that much of what we fear is actually fear of the past, not the reality of the present

 

The past especially for us Jews was certainly fearful

 

Pogroms, holocausts, oppression

 

That has ended

 

The world we live in today is one in which democracy, human rights, and even great reverence for the values held by the Jewish people is the norm

 

Recently, Efraim Haleive the former head of the Mossad spoke how in Israel because of our history of fear we treat terrorism as some kind of issue.

 

In a moment we could wipe out all the terrorists if we so choosed to do so.

 

Israel has no reason to be afraid, he said.

 

He is right.
