For a long time people genuinely believed, what you couldn’t see, couldn’t kill you; now we know that germs, invisible viruses, those are the killers – there is a profound lesson in this, for everything is a lesson, certainly things as serious as viruses – People, similarly think regarding emotions; What you don’t see, can’t kill you; which is as blind as thinking so in the physical realm – for the truth is, that there are emotions which not only are viruses that kill you, but they become contagious, primarily this is resentment – when we do not overcome our resentment, than not only does it eliminate our own love – for similar to the body that gets this, but tiny bug in it, it literally incapacitates this giant (relatively) body in comparison; similarly, when God-forbid resentment, anger enters, it eliminates our hearts love, faith, hope (for like a giant pot of soup, it takes but a small vial of poison to completely destroy all the goodness in it) and worst of all, if this does happen, we then become a host for the virus; for naturally, humanity is jealous of one another (as our sages teach, Man is jealous of everyone, except their student or their child) hence the bottom line is: this virus then seeks to eliminate the happiness in others.
