Expanded vs. contracted, vs. expanded and contracted consciousness

The truth is, I need to do something – so I can’t dedicate myself properly to this subject which deserves a pretty lengthy explanation- but very briefly, Expanded Consciousness is the state of lacking fear; in the mind’s imagination, as a drunk who refused to give up his bottle even for a lot of money explained, “With this bottle I own all the money in the world” – it feels good to live in imagination (for reality and imagination being both produced in the brain, feel exactly alike if they are positive) Contracted consciousness is when in the state of worry – honed in like a missile on its target, namely, the prevention of fear. – It sucks; but once in a while, like when you need to live in reality, it sure is a necessity (especially, say if a lion is chasing you – it’s really time to stop building castles in the sky) The problem with both states is, they are all-encompassing, either you are the master of the world (as most boys / teenager / men are, or hope to be, as Jerry Seinfeld says, “When boys read comics, they are choosing between different job options”) or you are the prisoner of reality, in a some kind of nightmare, like a character in a video game, constantly fencing off opponents – but there is a third way – the way of God, the way of truth, where you are neither master nor servant, god nor demon, rather a humble foot soldier of the king, hence when the king requires of you to eat, you eat; sleep, you sleep; work, you work; sex, you are intimate; go to war, you go to war – the trick of course is, how to discern the king’s orders; but that’s for another time, when I don’t have to do something
