Everything  you wanted to know about God

By zevi770 · January 18, 2017

The first thing you need to know is not who God is, but who God isn’t.
One of the greatest mistakes seekers make is called anthropomorphization.
In anthropomorphization we subconsciously compare God to man.
The result of this is a bizarre concoction often of negatives qualities employed by narcissistic delusional and evil people whose show of self-righteousness makes us think that God is similar.
But of-course if you wish to know someone, the best way is by hearing what they have to say about themselves.
Especially if the person is honest – now an honest person can say their qualities without having it cause them ego, because as the Rebbe says “God has no ego” – so when God says in the Torah, “I am compassionate” it truly means that God is compassionate.
So to summarize, God is actually quite simply every single positive quality which is: Compassion, Wisdom, Strength, Mercy if necessary, Justice, all are in God; and every single selfish narcissistic quality such as anger, Vengeance, hoarding, greed and last but not least jealousy, is not found in God.
In simple words, as The Baal Shem Tov so eloquently said, “The humble person is a direct reflection of God”.
