Everything we do is connected to an energy source, though we may seem to gain by indulging in lower energies; in fact these lower energies are there to trap us, for they feed off the energy we give them when we indulge, and then they use that energy to harm us – on the other hand, though we may seem to sacrifice, when we do good, study Torah, Daven, give charity; this energy is connected to God and the reward for these good deeds is immeasurable.
