Everything is a question of “the story” – what is the story of life? – Well, here is what God, through Kabbalah and Chassidus tells us is the story – By way of preface, there is no words to overstate how important the story is – entire societies and civilizations are based on a story, whether it’s Islam, Cristian or lihavidl Judaism, whether it’s political, like democracy or communism – The story of what truth is, encompasses you in ways you can never imagine; so it’s really really really important to have the true story! – The true story is not a story of conquest, of power, rather it is a story of goodness and kindness – If we had to rewrite the Bible in Kabbalistic axioms it would go “In the beginning when God had the impulse to create you – so in order to do, he first created time, space and the four kingdoms of souls/life/forms, in our universe – the first is the materials, from which he used some of it for vegetation and trees, some more of it for fish, birds, animals and insects, as well as the livayason, he then took from all the materials, samples, and formed, you, or Adam – now God said, “it isn’t good for man to be a selfish creature, I will make for him a wife – if he is selfless, she will love him, but if he is selfish, she will be angry” – man was put into a beautiful garden and told to protect it, however within the garden there were two trees: the tree of life that whoever eats its fruits would live forever and the tree of knowledge, for whoever would eat its fruits would become cognizant of good and evil – ultimately God’s intent was for man to rectify the earth through his own efforts of erasing it of evil, Hence, when the serpent which is the internal demon that tries to get you to do evil – for its vitality, life force, only can come about when you do so – came to chava (eve) and said “eat from the fruit” she understood (having the far deeper intuition God gave women) that God’s intent was for man to rectify the world – With a heavy heart she set about on her mission to eat of the fruit and convince man likewise – Upon eating the fruit, no more was man a humble servant of God – he now was filled with an insatiable lust and a desire for grandiosity – God banished man from the Garden, lest he eat of the tree of life and this evil shall always remain – the long short story of the Bible is, that it has taken man thousands of years to be able to recognize that lust and power are shameful – Whereas in the past, man and civilization thought nothing of rape and murder, as long as it was in the pursuit of conquest; now the truly civilized man (as opposed to Arab barbarians) understand, that respecting the rights of women as well as of every person, is sacred – Eventually, in this space of humility, man would have the serenity to search for the truth – and then God would appear to a man who has rejected evil – and as God is infinite, then, and only then, does life truly begin.
