everything I need to know about God I learnt through technology: in fact, the zohar (the primary book of Kabbalah) predicted, that “in the year 1840 God would open the floodgates of wisdom of above and below which would converge (as they amazingly have) in anticipation of the messianic redemption!” – the Rebbe explains: the floodgates of wisdom of below is technology which enables us to literally see God – you see the problem with God is, you cannot see him – In fact God goes so far, as to severely admonish that whatever was experienced at Mount Sinai – “You did not see..” – in other words, unlike idolatry or even to some extent Christianity that embodied/s God, God obviously created but is not in a body! – the problem we have is that if we cannot see something how are we to understand it? – the answer is technology – for from a computer, from a gps, from a smart phone we realize, that information has nothing to do with hardware – This was the great cloak of the reality God made – for he created a world in which the hardware and software, whether human, animal, plant, is (seemingly) one and the same – for example, if I asked you to point to yourself – you certainly would point to your body, but your body is no more you than if I asked you to point to Microsoft Word… – software is information – it can be expressed in a space but it is not space!
