Effectively we can be consumed by one of three motivations, the first is as Freud calls it passion – passionate people are like a car driving with no breaks – the other is depression – feeling afraid and simply too ashamed to commit suicide – and / or subjugate our passions and our existence, to a cause higher than our futile instinctual desires!
