The story is told, about two Russian peasants discussing taxes, says Ivan to Olga “why do you think the czar wants our money, when he makes it?” “Ah” says Olga to Ivan “you’re not the brightest, the czar doesn’t want his money, he wants our money!” – Similarly, God doesn’t need our goodness and kindness, he WANTS it!
