Discovering God is a three stage process, we are born basically agnostic, we then, through Divine intervention get shown God or the truth of God’s existence – as the Baal Shem Tov teaches, a feeling of bliss from G-d is given and then that feeling is shlepped out from under the carpet and then we are forced to slowly, painfully, with great effort, determination, stamina and perseverance, discover God once again, through a personal intellectual comprehension – and all is for this unity of human choice in God
