Desires, funny things, because there are so many, and each one is like being pulled in a different direction; so if you want a normal life – trust me on this – it’s the sum total of all of the wisdom of thousands of years of Jewish philosophy, mysticism and Judaism, cut your ties to every single desire; imagine that the rope its leading you on, its to a heap of stinking excrement; and only have one desire: to fulfill God’s wishes from you, by imagining that the rope its leading you towards – which it is, the messianic future!
