delusions of greatness come from one of 5 possibilities: the most common ironically is from shame and as the ego doesn’t want to feel the pain of shame it feeds the mind reasons for its greatness, and like you can sell anything by highlighting its qualities and in this way the ego sells oneself to oneself, but at the same time as we believe our own mind ttherefore the person ends up with this colossal delusion, this is called narcissistic personality disorder which is a result of what is called narcissistic wounding, the next common cause is somebody who has a talent and therefore they assume that they must be great because this talent makes them great; the next common cause is somebody who is praised, so the praise often gets to their head; As the Rebbe said about the Misnagdim, that they operate on a false sense of granduer, because in their  Society, they praise one another, so they all think that  they’re so great; the fourth cuase is that a person innately  such as the tribe of Amalek thinks that they’re great, this is why the Germans  who descended from Amalek had the irrational notion that they’re a superace, the 5th is a spoiled child
