Content?

A man once came to the Alter Rebbe, he was learned, a God-fearing pious loving individual, and asked him “what do I need to do?” – So the Alter Rebbe told him, “true you are, all of the above mentioned qualities, but to be content (in materialism is very healthy;) in spirituality, is very detrimental, for it prevents growth” – the Rebbe never tires to say, that, just as whoever owns a hundred thousand dollars, desires two, ad-infinitum, similarly in spirituality, in good and positive accomplishments, we need to allow the joy that they give us, to motivate our hearts to desire more of that feeling!!!
