Chassidus teaches there is the fundamental desire and the means to the end, God’s fundamental desire is you! everything else is a means to this end – of course, as you are his fundamental desire this doesn’t mean making the universe in a way where you can sit back relax and enjoy for you could feel no pride in yourself – rather making the universe specifically in a way, where you learn (hopefully the easy but more often than not, the hard way) that dedicating your life to noble pursuits will cause you joy!
