By understanding who we are, we can decide, who we want to be

The Zohar teaches, three kings rule us

Of course what makes us unique – greater than animals – is our ability to rationally think

Animals have minds – in fact, I once saw a study in which I think a chimpanzee had to use a joystick to get his avatar through a maze, for a peanut of course, and the professor said, that by human standards it was a genius – so it’s not that animals cannot think, they just cannot think rationally

Rational thinking, means to be able to be curios – to think independent of our irrational desires

The next king, is our irrational desires, these are firstly, our emotions, which quite simply is our attraction to pleasure and our fear of pain

But sadly, we have a tyrant in us called ego; our desire for grandeur and our anger over unjustified shame, and hence jealousy over those who haven’t been, hence all the evil: bullying, terrorism, which we see – a means to lower others, so one’s own ego doesn’t feel as bad
