But three kinds of hearts – which generate all of our thoughts (for thoughts, are emotions in words) speech (again, emotions in words) and action (you guessed it, emotions in action) There is the heart in love (as our sages teach “when the heart has ahavah, then a person gives” (for the word hav-give, is within the word love) then there is the heart of fear – now within fear, there are two types, the first is called yirah (related to a worry, concern, possible problem) the second is pachad (pachad has the word chad, singular, exclusive in it, for when we have a worry, the brain can think of other things too, but when we have a pachad – say you are chased by a lion, the brain can only think about not getting eaten – and this relates in many many ways – so the mind in pachad, really loses all objective thinking) thirdly, and mainly an offshoot of fear, is sinah, hate, which comes from resentment (which can come from, ironically, a cause or jealousy – jealousy is called sinas chinam, causeless-hate – for example, if you hit me and I believe it was unjustified, I instinctively will hate – however, if you say “sorry” I will forgive – but for example, Arabs who are jealous of Jews (for as one former terrorist told me – he converted to Christianity – that when yishmoel got expelled from Abraham’s house, it made his self-esteem plummet – and as all scholars on Arabs know, in the words of Lawrence of Arabia, they are xenophobic (they hate foreigners, for it rouses their inferiority complex – this of-course is behind all anti-Semitism, bullying etc.)
