At the heart of human reality – is the fact – the fact that we don’t exist! – we are merely a collection of perceptions made at a time when we were unaware we were making perceptions – the primary perception we have is that we do exist – the reason we have this perception is we have needs, these needs go from our instinctual heart into our mind, so when we cry out in pain from hunger, this convinces our brain that we do exist – but then coupled with the fact of our “existence” we begin to assume an identity – this is a perception of who we are – obviously it is impossible for a child to think rationally, so they begin to accumulate data on, who they are based on who their parents – who they identify with think they are – this is why children immediately assume the culture, be it religion, ideal(say democracy, communism etc.) of their parents – as we then mature we are given the opportunity – which most of us don’t – to use our rational mind to figure out who created the perceptions in the first place
