Associations

 

One of the all encompassing, if not the most all encompassing principle of reality is that every individual creates associations

In the words of our sages, “just as people’s faces differ, so do their viewpoints.”

Why?

Aren’t we all the same?

We have two eyes that see pretty much similar things

Two ears that hear pretty much similar things

But do they?

In fact everyone is mainly a heart – a heart is a feeling machine

For example, I know a girl who got sexually abused – now it took her four years of therapy just to be willing to get married

So the answer is, her heart felt fear, perhaps repulsion, certainly distrust

Trust is a big one

You see based on your experiences you will categorize everything as either pleasurable or unpleasurable (though of course, we have a N/A category as it gives us neither pleasure nor pain)

Psychologists love to try to unravel the sources as if somehow transforming the past will make a better future (though it may give temporary relief)

In the end of the day, if I may be so bold to quote the wisest man ever – there is but a single solution to your life – there is a Father-in-heaven who wishes to help you have only positive and no negative experiences – if you are willing to be humble.
