As in all things, our human interactions are either love (kindness) self-interest (need, lust etc.) vengeance/malice (offshoots of hate (and jealous hatred, which is why people can hurt people who never hurt them) or ideally, convictions (for though love is kind, as it is an emotion, it can easily – as we see in relationships – transform to self-interest or hate)
