Approach

The solution to all problems, as in the Israeli saying, Not through force, but through brains; lies in the correct approach!

For example, in Israel there is a problem: Arabs firstly, started three wars and countless skirmishes, with the singular purpose of ideally – in their words – murdering every Jew!

Then post 67’, Arafat, one of the many terrorist organizations to target Jews (there are at least fifteen) took a new approach; namely, to say, that he wants a state; when all along all, he wanted, which is what he did and what the Arabs always did, when they got land from Jews, was a base from which to attack Jews!

So by not having the right approach, instead of getting peace, the Jews actually got more war; instead of less violence, they got MORE violence!

This is, but one of the perhaps too innumerable to count examples, how it is not the reality you see, but how to approach the reality; to accept, reject or perhaps compromise; that is at the heart of living a good life!

Generally speaking, as Einstein said, “You cannot solve a problem using the mindset, you created it in;” the Rebbe’s advice was clear; instead of trying to figure out the right approach, which is invariably untenable; as our minds, have multiple varying desires, and hence, usually our approach is not based on the reality, but what we want the reality to be; one should ask a friend, who is an expert in that field, and follow their advice!!!
