Another way of looking at the unique history of humanity is seeing how we view our emotions – in more recent times which obviously we are more familiar, it is abundantly clear, three very interesting historical viewpoints of emotions – the first let’s call the Judeo-Christian ethic, namely that the rights of others must supersede our predilections, licentiousness and perhaps anger; but the human instinctual desire for licentiousness and ego was the real reason behind the enlightenment as the Rebbe Maharash states so succinctly and eloquently, without the libido’s drive all the so called enlightenment philosophers would give up their entire licentious worldview, but now having been born into the post stupid age where Nikes previous ad campaign “if it feels good, just do it” any thinking person has come to the realization that there is no healthier approach for a person, than to control, subjugate, harness and carefully select their emotional disposition.
