Anger and jealousy

Anger comes from ego – someone who has no ego cannot get angry.
We see this in situations where a person is humble, for example, a soldier is taught, he must follow orders – he will not be upset if he is given orders he doesn’t like, because he understands that is his sole responsibility – conversely a commander, expects his soldiers to follow orders, his ego will become enraged, if his soldiers don’t.
Now jealousy is very interesting because it also relates to ego.
Using the above example, we can why.
The soldier is not jealous of the commander’s privileges, for he understands that he is a soldier and the commander is a commander, but if the soldier becomes a commander, he very well may become jealous of privileges another commander has, that he doesn’t have.
So let’s be wise, as the Torah teaches, consider yourself beneath even the lowest of people, so your terrible wretched ego (mine too) has no reason to get angry, nor jealous, preventing us from the terrible sin of cruelty!
