And The Rebbe would say…

By zevi770 · January 14, 2014

Every Lubavitcher agrees on one thing and disagrees on one thing.

We all agree that the Rebbe’s words, are holy, accurate.

And we all disagree, as to what does the Rebbe currently say to us.

The truth is, I have found that there are three categories of people: those who know, they don’t know; those who – usually radicals, hence with agendas relating to narcissism etc. – know that they and they alone know; and those who have truly taken years, if not decades, to plummet the depths of the voluminous teachings, in search for the silver lining, the general theme which creates clarity out of chaos.

First of all, one must realize, that there is no such thing as a Rebbe.

A Rebbe, as the Rebbe said about previous Rebbes, is simply like a window.

A window has a single function, and that is to not block light.

Other objects, that are distinct, can only reflect the color they have (as you know, when you see a color, it is because all other colors, except that one, has been absorbed within the materiality of the object.)

The entire structure of all our Rebbes, Prophets etc. etc. is simply like a window – to allow the uninterrupted Divine (not their) consciousness, to flow through them.

And if anything, our loving dear G-d, is exceptionally verbose.

We have from the Rebbe alone, tens of thousands of pages – all incredibly deep – yet it would be exceptionally hard for any mind to reconcile the diverse spectrum of instructions, ranging from life, to Moshiach, to learning, to love etc.

But we must realize, the Rebbe is not Judaism.

Judaism is The Divine consciousness speaking through all our Jewish leaders; in essence it begins with Mosses, and forms an uninterrupted chain of Prophets, who humbled their own egos, allowing for Divinity to flow through them.

(Here is not the place to prove this theory, but it is simply accurate, based on Judaic teachings.)

So in other words, we must begin to understand, that every word spoken, from Mosses first, to the Rebbe final, are the same G-d, hence, there must be a single theme, which unites all of it!

To understand this, in essence one should study “On The Essence Of Chassidus,” the Rebbe’s remarkable teaching, explaining that Chassidus is not a theory, rather the Divine consciousness; hence as oil, it has the ability to light up, to enhance flavor to all other items.

In other words, Judaism has, as is well known, two parts – the inner and outer dimensions.

To begin with, only the outer dimension, the 613 Mitzvos were revealed.

Over thousands of years, Jews learned to accept the Mitzvos as a bedrock of their civilization, as Rabbi Sadiah Goan writes, “Our nation is a nation, built on the foundation of Torah and Mitzvos;” (and sadly, within a generation or two, those Jews who stop keeping Torah and Mitzvos, are lost forever to our people.)

Yet to limit an infinite G-d to 613, would be no different to limiting a painter, who lives forever, to painting 613 portraits!

He has an infinite ability to paint.

Similarly, G-d – and the Rebbe emphasized this time and time again, and it constitutes the most obvious theme of the worldview, Gestalt of the Rebbe – believes in our ability, to continually progress!

In the end of the day, the novelty of the Rebbe’s approach was quite simply that G-d is infinite, which translates into the ultimate notion of Yeilchui Mechayil El Chayil, we are all continually getting – through our experiences, similar to the Baal Shem Tov’s Torah, that everything one sees and hears, certainly one learns etc. is a transformative message from G-d – downloads, of the next step in our progress.
