Altruism

Think about it, what we all revere, yet perhaps we fear the shame of living.
We revere, those, like the Lubavticher Rebbe, lehavdil Mother Theresa, who dedicated their lives altruistically, but as Frued points out, who we revere is usually not how we behave.
The funny thing is, altruism frees man from his obsession with his personal frustrations, for when you care for others, you feel not the sting of dashed hopes, of failed grandiosity!
But altruism doesn’t mean we need to change the world, namely, how the world functions; it simply means, we need to put, as the core reason for existence, altruism! and then everything we do for the sake of altruism – even, or perhaps especially! making trillions to give to charity, is altruistic!
