The contribution of ego – we find not that animals which obviously lacking an ego, have a desire for supremacy – sure they may try to protect their territory or harem, but they are not looking for credentials, fame, recognition; they simply are following their instinctual needs – most of what we humans do, are not rational, even the rationality of following our hardwired instincts – for example, there is an epidemic today of men not wishing to marry too young, for they are building their careers, and we all know that even the older generation that got married at more reasonable ages, still often, fathers literally gave their lives to careers – in addition, the general consensus is, a CEO is more respectable then say, a loving blue collar father – in other words, recognition, power, prestige, which is all based on ego, dominates human activities – but that is the good side of ego, the dark side is, every argument over pettiness – which most are – every fight, every war, is all about low self-esteem – for it is all based on a perceived misalignment of ego – why should you have something – including happiness, the greatest jealousy that exists, hence four thousand years of antisemitism and the anti-Americanism we see today – that I don’t!

No one has the right to tell you what to do, besides God!

The Baal Shem Tov gives an example from a person riding in a car (carriage) and falls asleep, and the driver then goes up a hill, so when the passenger awakes, he sees a road and doesn’t realize they are elevated, similarly, man is born with an ego, but isn’t aware of it – but the proof that we have it, is anger.

Everyone wants to smile!

We are the world, that we need to change!

Whatever attracts us, distracts us – hence the only functionality we can possibly have, is to serve, for when we serve, we don’t lose our minds!

All the motivation, all the motivational speakers, not only are useless, they are detrimental; for pretend there is a ladder which takes tremendous motivation to climb, so you hire Tony Robbins etc. etc. and finally you climb, but when you get to the top you realize, you are actually simply further from your goal, not closer to it!

The moment we realize, that everything that appears to be good, is fake at best, corrupt and evil at worst, we will be content, with our God given, normal happiness!

All that man really needs, is meaningful purpose!

Even if you were the most recognized celebrated face in mankind, it would bring you no benefit, though as actors, who pretty much have that, have realized – lots of curses!

Everything that comes our way – any request anyone makes of you, comes from God!

True conmen are so false, they convince themselves of their own lies, in order to lie better, which is why we trusting people, fall for them!

We have no reason, nor right, to give love to strangers, until we make our own flesh and blood feel loved.

Seek not to conquer countries far from your own, seek to have harmony, unity, brotherhood, love!

In other words, Moshiach will give us the infinite gift of being proud of ourselves, through slaying the Yetzer Hara the satan/devil within; thus redeeming us, from our stupidities, laziness, arrogance etc. etc. allowing our Divine side to shine!

What is Moshaich coming to save us from? – truthfully speaking, life can be both materially and spiritually excellent – I’ll be honest, sure I’m a bit lazy, so I don’t study enough, but thank-God I have no complaints, both on my material life and my spiritual – but that’s precisely the point, for within us all, we have the satan, the Yetzer Hara, the infinitely conniving malicious serpent whose sole aim is to destroy our happiness through not allowing us to fulfill our potential! – so though today, I may be content, but tomorrow, when the dragon’s head shall be slain, when my laziness (or each their own battle, see chapter 6 in Kabbalah Love) doesn’t hold me back, then and only then, will my life be joyful!!!

No man is without his Godliness nor without his satan – it’s our job to choose love over anger!

We are certainly not significant to be hated by God, as it states, “Even if you sin repeatedly, you haven’t done anything to him!” but as we are God’s child, we are infinitely significant in terms of his love for us!!!

There is no such thing as growth without losing your footing, for example, a man once asked the Rebbe about, feelings of lows, in-between understandings of Godliness – he replied, “it’s like climbing steps, before your foot touches a higher level, it must hang temporarily in mid-air,” making room for the transition between the past to the future.

You see, we have multiple desires, we have good hearts, but likewise we have egos, latent within all men is the desire for supremacy, for we fundamentally follow our subconscious desires; now, if we do feel superior and this happens very often in marriage, for before the consummation, the two lovebirds see each other on parallel levels, but after, one person feels, “conquered” the other, and this according to John Gottman, one of the foremost researches into marriage, creates the lack of identification, hence the wife also disassociates.

Mans fundamental error is to call others radicals – for people act either based on theology, hence in truth, the Muslim fundamentalist are not radicals, on the contrary, they are the ones fulfilling their religion’s clarion call to Jihad, though in a very unique destructive way, for in essence Jihad is about converting countries to Sharriah law – which is why for example, the Muslim brotherhood will never give up the war against Egypt’s secular rule, for that is their belief system, as they did in the Mubarak age – so to see behavior and not see either the theological or the emotional, for example, sometimes people are snappy, so to not realize, their life must be resentful, bitter, based on abuse, hence low self-esteem, hence jealousy over good self esteem, is to not understand – and once we label, well that’s how the holocaust happened!

If we focus more on our instincts, than our ideals, instead of our ideals over our instincts, what happens??

If we truly believe in God, there is room for questions, but not doubts; for to say we cannot understand, is understandable; for we see not God’s intent, nor the benefit of his actions (at times) but to doubt, is actually to repudiate our belief system!

Never accuse someone, even in your mind, unless there is enough evidence that would convince an unbiased jury!

Though love cannot be faked, it can be created; by extending oneself into another, thereby extending their love; in other words, if someone says, “my wife/husband is the other half of my soul!” or “my fellow Jew is part of my soul!” then the individualistic self-love gets implanted in whom you see as carrying part of you, which is why parents – especially mothers – love their children!

Love cannot be faked, for sooner or later, people see through falsities.

A wife’s love for her husband, comes in direct proportion – actually a mirror reflection – of a husband’s love for her!

Tragic is not lacking what you desire, but not desiring what you don’t lack!

Nothing is more soul joyful, then working for a good cause!

If we cannot cry over another’s loss, nor rejoice over another’s joy, we are not people!

One thing is for sure, God will never give us a day, perhaps, not even a minute off of living, which means, doing more than we already did!

Sensitivity and arrogance, as distant from each other as heaven and hell, for one seeks compassion, while the other destruction; one is selfless, the other only greed!

True we want to fight not, but the real war that goes on, is the war for, not our lands, but our hearts – insensitivity, arrogance, greed and supremacy always was and always is at a war for the disposition of hearts of sensitivity and compassion!

Sensitivity, compassion, unconditional love, hence goodness and kindness, is God – but insensitivity, arrogance, hence, demeaning, degrading, greed and supremacy, is its antitheses!

Money is a good thing to give.

Thought and action, a married pair, for one without the other, has nothing to share!

People need not be, something they are not, in order to receive acceptance, to set them apart – Who we were born as, is who we are, a shining star, from God’s love, we all are!!!

Not a step is taken, that wasn’t designed, to be a better future, then we could have in mind!

To lift your eyes above the clouds, to sea the hidden peaks, to soar higher than the eagle’s flight, to rest on snowcapped peaks

Ideals are for people! if a person thinks, ideals are beyond people, as say communists, murdered tens of millions and subjugated hundreds of millions for their ideals!

Evil people not only are so debased they don’t feel ashamed of their evil, they brag about it!

If we allow someone to trap our body – say prison, we have a bit of a problem – but if we allow a person to trap our souls – our beliefs, there is nothing left of us!

People who were educated brutally, do so to their children, not because they really think, that’s the way to educate, rather, they believe, it’s their turn!

In the end of the day, everything we desire boils down to the fact, we desire pleasure / happiness, not pain; in the end of the day, we cannot find happiness in anything we get, for like any instant gratification, as soon as we get it, the gratification stops – often, we are chasing it merely because we think, or we want to prove that we can (so it relates not even to gratification, but self-esteem (or the lack therefore) only through leaving our selves, the thoughts which percolate into our consciousness of what will give us happiness and simply subjugating ourselves one-hundred percent (for a chain is only as strong as its weakest link) to God’s goodness and kindness, will we eternally be happy!

Know this, when we celebrate the means, it means, we have been egotistically sucked into believing we are the means; ignoring that, means are only for an end!

There is no doubt that life is predestined, it is predestined to reach, what is currently going on, that each and every good soul will discover God, and God will “discover them!”

Love begins with a smile, the question is, who will smile first?!

In the west we celebrate success, what is it that we have with success? well a darker side of our fascination will reveal it, you see; we also celebrate mafia-movies – ad-nausea; there have been
“The Godfather” and sequels, and other types, why? – What’s the fascination? – Ultimately, they all boil down to human’s greatest challenge, and that is the desire for independence, versus dependence

You see, the reason we celebrate success, even if it is dark and evil, is we like to be independent!

But that will all change!

For once we realize the truth, namely, that everything really is a tool of God, those who are rich are rich for they play an important role in feeding others (and the most important mechanism, though not that they chose it, but forced into it, to fulfill their personal ambition – is giving another a job, so he is fed with dignity!) those who are evil, are too functionaries, of an all seeing God, who may be repaying a man in this lifetime for crimes in another!

The goal of course is to realize, there is no such thing as success – there is only dependence on God, and that’s a good thing, for it keeps us humble, and humble is good!

Three things are obvious, everything can only come about, if God makes it; not everything that God makes is an end; everything that God makes, will achieves its means – human growth!

This is the truth, the truth obviously is not what we create, it is what created us! but obviously our biggest liability is anthropomorphism; in other words, comparing the creator to the limitations of the created! the truth is, that the Creator is defined by his lack of limitation (even the lack of the lack of limitations, called “nimnah hanimnoes;” no limitation can be applied to him!) so hence, the truth must be discerned not through human intellect, which by nature cannot discern such a limitless being! (for we can only compare, to the greatest point of our limited functioning, for example: if we think of the smartest person, say Einstein, he is still limited to thinking a thought at time. He cannot think all the thoughts that ever have, will, and can exist simultaneously, much less create creations! hence our greatest mind, is literally compared to lack of human intelligence, relative to an infinite mind!) so only discerning revelation, what God through Torah, through the Rebbe teaches us is the truth, can we know the truth; and it is all best described (as predicted in the Zohar, that in the year 1840, technology will become advanced to the point where we can discern paradigms – certainly now, in its very advanced computer stage – to understand, God from it) so the GPS is the perfect example:

If the GPS told you all the steps of your journey simultaneously, you could never input that information, hence it must realize, you human, small and step by step consciousness, must be told, step by step, every step! – similarly, God, whatever we have, even the Torah itself, is not the big picture, it is a step (though of course, as the Torah comes from the infinity of God, hidden within it, like the GPS, already knows all the steps it will tell you – are all the subsequent revelations of Chassidus, the Torah of Moshiach, the personal teachings of God to you for eternity etc.) so God is always, step by step teaching us! every experience leads us to either accept or reject a reality, so say, our experiences with monarchy led us to reject it, our current experience with democracy may lead us to reject it, in favor of truth, namely, a God based responsibility (as opposed to entitlement democracy based) lifestyle – but without a doubt, we are the car, our experiences are the GPS, when we learn something, then the GPS gives us a new experience, ad-infinitum!
