A User’s Guide To Your Brain

A brain is a essentially a computer – it can make associations.
However what most of us don’t realize is, our thoughts are not US thinking.
You see all animals think – for a lioness to hunt, she must have an awareness of her need for food, she must think about where the gazelles are, she must think where to hide, when to run etc.
The fundamental difference between a human and animal brain is in the prefrontal lobes where we have the unique ability to think rationally.
Now rational thinking, as opposed to emotional thinking, for once a lioness has fulfilled her needs, she stops thinking; so it is her emotional needs that activate her mind, not curiosity etc. – so rational thinking is the ability to Independently – non-emotionally, think.
However, obviously, this is not as simple as it sounds:
Generally speaking, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, expressed the belief, that people will only seek higher motivations, if lower ones have been fulfilled.
And this is the point – when an emotional thinking is present, it directly impacts any higher thinking.
