You consist of three souls – Divine – animal – intellect

Each soul desires its pleasure and fears its pain

The Divine seeks Divinity

The animal has certain instincts, as we see, each person is different, particularly Jewish people have instincts for compassion, which is why disproportionately they set up organizations which are compassionate; those instincts unfortunately also include our egos, which is a desire to be supreme, and anger when we get offended; as well as the intellect, which is man’s natural curiosity, but in the end of the day, all these desires are actually addictions, as any desire of course is!

The goal is to let go and to fight your desires, and to only allow God’s desires! which can be ascertained through Torah and Mitzvos and through asking your Mashpia, spiritual Chassidic mentor!
