A Story

A Lubavitcher (student of the Rebbe) for whatever reason left religious practice – seeing some of his friends in Israel, on the way to deliver good cheer, Chanukah lights and Sufganiot – doughnuts to the soldiers, they asked him to join, which he happily agreed – they came to the base in which the soldiers were thrilled for the warmth, light, and food – as they were setting up, a general came in and starts shouting for them to leave – so the Lubavitchers, well-mannered mild souls, saw no choice; but the Lubavitcher who left religion and was more flamboyant, in typical Israeli fashion challenged the general “what’s the problem, the soldiers are enjoying it.” “Listen” replied the general “I used to be a misnagid and though I became irreligious, the one thing I maintained, is my hatred of Lubavitch” (jealousy.) Replied the former Lubavitcher “Listen, I used to be Lubavitch and now I am not religious, but the one thing I maintained is my love for my fellow Jews!”
