A man once wrote to the Rebbe, he’s depressed, and the Rebbe replied, “ I believe the reason for your depression, is, you haven’t subjugated yourself to God.”

Now personally, that sounds absurd – wouldn’t freedom from God be a cause of joy – didn’t the name frai (free ones) become attached to those who rejected Judaism?

But ironically, empirically (objectively) this is not true!

For those who reject God, find their lives to be devoid.
