A great rabbi was once on a boat and all the merchants traveling, and as they did in those days holding all their money in their pouches to buy and later sell, were bragging of their occupations – when they came to the Rabbi he said, “my occupation is priceless” – they all laughed at him, but lo and behold the ship got attacked by pirates and all the merchants lost everything, when they got to land – the Jewish community seeing a great scholar were honored by his presence and offered him a position, whereupon he had them give the merchants money to get home – yes my dear friends – all the occupations in the world cannot guarantee an income in difficult times, but your relationship with God – always!
