Today is the birthday of Mosheh Rabbeinu. Moses our teacher! Who exactly was this person whose Torah, so revolutionized the world that by any standard, it has become the standard, by which all standards have standards.

 

The answer is really quite simple, and it’s lesson infinitely vital!

 

Moses didn’t exist.

 

Of-course Moses the man existed; but not Moses the man.

 

Now this may be sounding like the non-contradictory, contradictory, koranic verses, but in truth, as our sages teach, two opposites may have a reason.

 

Moses as a man like you and me did not exist!

 

For you and I (certainly I) are ego based.

 

At the very core of who I am, is my ego.

 

Moses as the Bible tells us, had no ego.

 

Yes, Moses was not a man.
