how to have world peace

My good friend Dr Fasbinder always says, when his children ask him what he wants for his birthday, he says “world-peace”, so they once got him a sign that says world-peace

I participated in a U.N. conference (another one of their useless meetings) on achieving world-peace, and it was a collection of leaders from all races, religions, politics etc. and the bottom line is, peace is only achieved when there is love.

But how do we achieve love?

When in the final talk of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who did more to promote global peace historically than anyone, he explains, that love is created through identification, as Aristotle says, “love is one soul in two bodies.”

In other words, when I can see how you and I are similar, I extend my inborn self love to you.

For example if I love mazda miatas, whenever I see a mazda miaita I will love it.

Hence by underscoring a. what is lovable in myself, for I cannot extend a love which I don’t possess and b. how this lovable thing is in you, I achieve global unity.

So here is how Judaism / Jewish mysticism teaches is the way to global unity.

In the beginning there was only God who is very lovable, just look at what he as done for all of us – a universe, life, beauty etc. – then God creates a soul (this of-course is who we are, our life force, for without life, our body is nothing) then God unites with this, like two flames which are now one.

He places this Divine life-force in you, and that is who you are.

Now he has done the same for all other life.
