Well known it is that the Rebbe has summarized Judaism as goodness and kindness – and I have often thought to myself what is the difference… because it would seem that they mean the same thing… but I have come to the conclusion as Hillel told that convert, who said to him “I wish to convert to Judaism on condition you tell me the entire principal while I stand on one foot…” replied he “That which you want another not to do to you – do not do to them” which in essence as Chassidus / Jewish mysticism teaches us, means, “just as you don’t want anyone to shame you, even if you do something wrong, you never do that…” so if we reframe the word goodness based on that definition – The Purpose Of Life Is Number One, Never Shame Another No Matter What, And Always Be Kind
