The pleasure of your Divine essence, like a child far from home, just seeks unity (with God, and hates separation)
The pleasure of your animal – biological-self is (and this varies, for there are four primary sources: fire arrogance (which also causes anger – for the arrogant person cannot handle not being “right,” in charge – for rafter all he deserves to be..) water – this is biochemical reaction, like water that causes the biochemical products to grow (be it food, drugs – this of-course relates to the tiny limb called by the Baal Shem Tov, the limb of pleasure) there is earth the pleasure in laziness (got that one : ) – think lots of men do… – women, because they have more Binah white-matter, have very active minds…) this also translates into sadness (a reaction to not getting our way, hopelessness, depression, God-forbid) then there is air – frivolousness, fun (TV, video game, chatting etc.)
Finally as we are also endowed with an intellectual soul, we also enjoy new science – we like it when things make sense (and dislike lack of order / truth)
Now at the very core of all souls is God, pure loving compassion – so we also feel bad for those suffering and if we want to truly feel good – Do SOMETHING
