A Rabbi was once challenged by an atheist “I don’t believe in God” he sneered. In the god that you don’t believe in, I also don’t; replied the clever Rabbi.   You see, how we define God makes a Godly difference!   Our definition of God is often based on what is called anthropomorphization – we extend human attributes to the maxim and believe God is like that!   Judaism is abundantly clear that, that is the image of God, that we need to lose.   God can only be defined by himself, for all our definitions are only grandeur limitations!   Is the fastest runner really fast? Yes, compared to me and you; but compared to the speed of light, it’s far less than a snail’s pace, relative to his fastest sprint!   God as defined in Judaism is a living, creating, loving, guiding, director of all affairs!
