According to Jewish law for something to be kosher (on most foods) a Jew must light the fire!
Well observing as I am, now in a cheese making factory, that the Jew must add the rennet – the part that transforms the milk into cheese it occurred to me that the fire is the transformative process.
Our sages: “accept wisdom from gentiles but not Torah” in other words, if Aristotle wants to teach you a sum, learn from him, but if he desires to teach you the sum total of the meaning of life, run far away.
For anything that has a transformative power, the ability to lead you in a direction must be completely perfect.
It is for this reason, the Rebbe was very concerned with the moral education of the world.
For it makes scarcely a difference how many equations a child knows – especially today with calculators etc.
But if a child is aware that there is a God that cares about morality, to whom he is privileged and obligated to serve, well that’s the difference between a world which has morality or one that doesn’t.
We all know God gave us instructions for life.
Is he aware of life?
When we think about the state of the universe, we need to realize that the universe is not in a state!
The universe is run – scientifically proven – so concisely that intelligent design did not happen many years ago but every facet of every thought, speech, action, by any person animal etc. etc. is all intelligently designed.
They say the best proof there is no intelligent life out there – sorry, the best proof there IS intelligent life out there is – they NEVER CONTACTED US!
Many of us have a very pessimistic outlook about how things “look.’’
In everything God made, there are two realties, the inner and outer.
Now it is true when we look at the outer spiritual affairs of man, the prognosis is perhaps STAT.
However the real change that occurs in man is not how he dresses, talks, or even how religiously he acts, rather what does he believe?
For, man’s relationship in God, to God and for God, to be genuine, it cannot be a conscript army, for anything a person is conscripted into, feels well conscripted.
Rather a true army is a volunteer army, where people sign up because they believe in the cause.
