So what is the best perspective on life

Chassidus believes many things, many of them fundamentally shifting the center of gravity, none more so perhaps than dirah bitachtoinim, but let’s begin in a logical fashion

What is our modern – or even ancient Roman / Greek – perspective of life?

We see life as a COMPETITION

More is most! Less is least!

What is the ancient Jewish perspective?

We see life as an obligation:

613 commandments and their tens of thousands of subdivisions.

What did the Baal Shem Tov and all of our holy Rebbes teach us?

Life is an opportunity not to be wasted!

It was the intent of the infinite One to create a finite world and place souls – literally part of himself – in order to exchange the crassness of the gentile perspective of life with the Jewish perspective

In the Jewish perspective we don’t see winners or losers.

Rather we see many individuals playing a symphonic melody.

When each of us lifts ourselves beyond the “competition perspective” to the opportunity to change the world perspective  – obviously through the obligation to fulfill God’s will perspective, included within the opportunity perspective – then we shall achieve world peace, for peace is based on love and love is based on identification and identification is based on seeing common purpose.
