There are two kinds of investors – investors, traders, brokers etc. etc. and than Warren Buffet. Warren Buffet has a remarkably simple idea – instead of speculating, why not go to the company and sniff out the truth? It seems he may be on to something. Well of course investing is not my field, but teaching is. So what do we learn from this? As I recently read one analyst say about the Euro “they will keep on kicking the can down the field but the fundamentals are not right.” The same thing is in life, we can either be investors “kicking the can down the field” hoping for some kind of giant windfall (only trouble is, after four thousand years of hindsight – after every gain also comes a loss) or we can change strategies – we can think – we can sniff – we can analyze!
If one hasn’t got any red lines then as the famous story of the philosopher who asked a cultured woman “Would you sleep with me for 1,000,000,000 Dollars” and she thought about it, so he interjected “Wat about 5? “What kind of woman do you think I am?!she replied. “We already established that, now we are haggling over a price!”
Psychologist say there are three types of people Victims Healthy self esteem And bullies The victims lacking love at home are looking for love, making them vulnerable. The bullies being abused at home, are looking to step on someone, to a. fulfill what they perceive to be cool (for everyone imitates their role models) and b. when they do, it temporarily takes away their internal grief, for there is a narcissistic evil desire that gives man pleasure when he steps on someone else (that’s why we all enjoy jokes that make fun of some kind of sub-class, white trash, rednecks etc.) And last but not least, are those more fortunate souls that their society, family, teachers etc. made them feel good about themselves, so they are looking for more happiness and at the same time they will never be victims.
