Freedom is not doing what we want, for what we want like a gerbil spinning on a wheel and every time he rotates the wheel gets bigger, it only wets our perception that we may attain even more.   Let’s just look at the financial crises totally spurred by wanting more.   People bought second homes that they didn’t need, only because they could, as my seven year old daughter through some kind of prophetic wisdom said “the recession happened because people bought things that were too expensive for them.”   To buy on credit seems like more of the American dream than anything else, but it really relates to innate dependence on fulfilling our instincts which like the gerbil we mentioned only gets into greater and greater trouble for his wheel of life only becomes beyond his reach every time he reaches any of his goals.   No; true freedom is not fulfilling our wishes, rather fulfilling our souls.
