From love to love with discipline

Our sages teach us, that Abraham was unconditional love

However Yishmoel, unconditional selfishness was born

Our sages teach us, that Yitzchak was unconditional discipline, however Eisav, unconditional self-oriented discipline (i.e. judging others, not oneself) was born.

Our sages teach us, only Jacob got it right, giving birth to the Jewish nation and all twelve sons were Tzaddikim, righteous Jews.

Jacob epitomizes mercy

What’s the difference between love and mercy?

Love is about you!

Discipline too can be about you.

But mercy is always about the other!
